miniMixdown Episode 21 - IMAKEMADMIXTAPES
Hey everyone! Happy New Year and blessings to you all!
I think for 2011, i'm gonna stop trying to do a mix every week since that's failed the past two years and i've been averaging one minimix a month including at least one big project. my schedule is pretty hectic with all the projects i'm taking on in my electrical engineering gig and all the traveling i do. so from now on, i'm gonna do one mix a month and focus on quality rather than trying to rush thru mixes in a week. big ups to DJ Buddy from www.djbuddytv.com for being able to do so many quality weekly minimixes consistently!
So to start of 2011 right, I had a time of reflection to think of which artist would set the mood for how i wanted to make mixes this year. Going through my music emails, i saw something from Doxside Music Group talking about the January 17 release of the IMAKEMADBEATS album. Now, IMAKEMADBEATS first came onto my radar when i did the Potholes In My Blog Transmitting Live mixtape a few years ago, and his track "Return with a Mask On" with MidaZ was one of my favorites on that mix and is also featured in this mix. So i decided to hit him up on twitter to see if he was down for this project.
I originally wanted to drop this mix before his album release, but with my hectic schedule and some logistics problems, i couldn't drop it til now. So hopefully the lag is worth it and you guys enjoy the mix. The joints on this mix are from the Doxside camp and not exclusively produced by IMAKEMADBEATS, which also speaks of his character. Neemo sent all the tracks to me, which could have been all produced by him, but he sent me tracks produced by others as well. Now that's Hip Hop. Shout outs to all the artists who provided songs and drops for the mix. y'all are appreciated!
