miniMixdown Episode 17 - Guru Tribute Mix
Hip Hop lost two big contributors this week to cancer: DJ Hideo and Keith Elam, better known as GURU from the group Gang Starr. I was actually going to do another mix before I heard the news regarding Guru's passing. But with this news, I felt compelled to make this short tribute mix and put that other mix on hold for now.
Guru was diagnosed with cancer a year ago and suffered a heart attack and fell into a coma in February from complications resulting from the cancer. His signature monotone voice and lyrical mastery will always be remembered. He is indeed the Gifted Unlimited Rhymes Universal. RIP July 17, 1966 – April 19, 2010
